This is really good, Lewis. It invites you to dance...

Not getting much done...Christmas a non event...family got this Flu virus...just got presents. My son got me a 'new' Beryl Cook book. What joy, can't read that without feeling better. This is a repost from 5 or 6 years ago...it's me doing Beryl subject matter...not copying her work. Must do more of people enjoying themselves.

A joyful bunch of great characters.

Sorry to hear about your Xmas but glad you shared this with us

Wonderful characters Lewis. Sorry to hear you weren’t well over Christmas. I think a lot of us have had one thing or another. Keep the pictures coming!

Superb characters Lew, hope your feeling better now.

Thanks very much for your comments on this repost. Dixie, neither myself or my wife got the flu, but my son and all his family did. We were going to have Christmas Day together. That didn't happen, so a very low-key event for us.

A cheery smile is always welcome, despite hearing about your quiet Christmas. Were you also inspired by Cleo Lane for this one?

Lovely homage to Beryl Cook, I'm also a fan of her work. You've captured the atmosphere really well.

Thank you Tony and Andrew. It's not Cleo, Tony, although I really liked her work. I did look at a ref photo for the frock (the frocks I make up all look the same.)

The characters are brilliant, New Year party?

Love this Lewis and I loved Beryl Cook, like you, her work always puts a smile on my face. Wishing you all a healthier New Year.

Sorry to hear you had a quieter Christmas without your family Lewis. It’s always great to receive an art book and your painting definitely makes us all feel more joyful!

Can’t go wrong with smiles and laughter Lewis, whatever the time of year.

Good one, Lewis.

A girl from my home town! I guess my work should look more like hers. My painting apron is a facsimile of her girl’s night out painting. Well done for encapsulating her joie de vie !

Wonderful Lewis. One of my favourite artists.

Blasted flu! Spoilt a lot of Christmas for some. Still got your sense of humour Lew, delightful.

Great caricature! You obviously have a gift for it. You've built up an interesting body of work.

Lewis Cooper

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
