Super painting Kim and what an interesting, if true, story! Best wishes for a good Christmas.

Gorgeous watercolour painting Kim as always from you and a super potted history of the man which if true is miraculous of course, you have captured him beautifully

A very interesting story and a fabulous watercolour portrait of the man behind the story. Seasons Greetings to you too Kim.

Yet another super watercolour figure study. I also enjoy your narratives that go with them. I look forward to viewing many more in 2014, all the best.

ANOTHER OLD IRISH PIPER GONE "On Sunday the 11th Pat Ward was knocked down by a motor car outside his house at Black Bull, Drogheda and succumbed to his injuries on the following Tuesday morning. He was born in Co.Meath on 17 March 1846 and for over 50 years followed the profession of ploughman, earning the respect of his employers and the affection of his neighbours. He leaves a widowed daughter and her 5 young children to mourn the loss of a devoted parent. His skill as a performer on the pipes was enhanced by his charm of manner and absence of the slightest trace of professional jealousy. He had an utterly unselfish love of the old Irish airs and delighted in imparting his knowledge to pupils who came from near and far to acquire some of his art." (Drogheda Independent, 14 April 1928) PS. Pat Ward was blind which explains perhaps how he met his tragic end, but not how he ploughed for 50 years....
