Charming watercolour, Kim. Love the colours and the story of this beautiful building.

Lovely watercolour Kim. I like the way you have implied the detail, rather than over working it.

Beautiful work Kim! You have such a delicate touch with your brush and colours.

I envy your loose style Kim - great.

Brilliant! This actually looks as if it could have come straight out of one of Charles Reid's books and that is meant as a huge compliment I assure you. However, I know that you don't really know or follow his work and this is completely your own style so I can only think that great impressionistic watercolourists think alike! I wish I could think like that - very envious of your skill.

Thanks to you all. I submitted this painting to a plein air competition last year and they inflicted a 2nd prize on me, which was a nice surprise. Thea: I've seen Reid's work of course (not least thanks to your encouragement!). There's has always been a stylistic convergence between us. But he's a master, a true master, so there any similarity ends!

Agree with above comments, you have not overdone the details in this obviously lovely villa, what you have shown is just enough

There are several fine villas in Monza's huge park (which also contains a certain race track). They're all decaying (dis)gracefully like the rest of us. The difference is that if we throw some money at the buildings they can be saved. I suspect the same doesn't apply to us...
