You certainly have made a great colourful composition

It looks really good Ken, not as detailed as usual but there I like detail anyway!

Beautiful composition, Ken, the red works very well and the figure are truly naturals. Good painting.

Very striking Ken and lovely composition.

A superb piece, beautifully composed, with a great palette.

Lovely work Ken, super work on the reflections on the side of the bus.

I love your technique!!

Excellent painting. The rhythm of reds and the reflections in the bus particularly. It was a good idea to widen the gap between the figures so that we can see beyond them. The loose handling of the foliage and the lamppost takes the viewer right out into the distance.

Beautifully painted. The colours and reflections are great.

Great painting Ken, love the interaction between the figures and the reflections on the side of the bus.

Just love your style Ken

Super painting, Ken.

Gorgeous palette and interpretation.

For this painting I set out with the intention of 'loosening up'. It's only slightly looser than usual but I managed to reduce some of the detail. I'm happy enough with the result, anyway. Let me put a load of strong red into any painting and I'm happy! Coming out of the Seven Dials area of London one afternoon, I wandered into the Borough of Camden. Two young men - students, possibly - walked by, chatting to each other. I took a snapshot just as a bus passed to slow to a stop ahead. Looking at the photo later, I felt I could make a decent composition out of it. I widened the space between the boys and gave the one on the left a red jacket instead of the tan jacket he had worn in real life. This provided a nice rhythm of red and black shapes across the width of the painting.
