I think you have done a great job Keith, this is a smashing mountain work, I have been around mountains and wild country a lot of my life and just love everything about the hills including sketching and painting them. You have blended everything into a whole without any splitting, I think its great.

Hi Malcolm, Many thanks for your comment-you are too kind. Yes-the lonely places have a charm and fascination that can be a challenge to capture. Best wishes. Keith

Hi Pat, Glad you have an eye for representational art. Most artists manage an abstract piece but I think painting from life more challenging and quickly reveals ability (or none). Best wishes. Keith

Soft Pastel on Pastelmat (Clairfontaine) card, 30 x 24 cm. Painted in the studio from on-site oil study and shows view from Susten Pass looking towards the high alps (contre jour). Painted in layers, fixed with alcohol/water mix except for final touches. I found it quite difficult to unify the rugged, green and tan foreground with the almost serene glacier so as to avoid splitting the image into two paintings.
