Feeling the heat by Tim O'Brien
The fireman carefully builds the fire on 9F No. 92203 Black Prince at Sheringham station in August 2016, while the driver enjoys a sit down. I had to capture the moment in a painting after meeting these cheery chaps one evening, during a family holiday. The North Norfolk Railway (NNR) ran a children’s special, and they kindly invited my son George to stand on the footplate. I love the fact that in this hot, mucky environment, both the driver and fireman are wearing formal white shirts, with a tie/bow-tie.
