Feeling the heat by Tim O'Brien

Superb painting Tim.

Excellent work, I can feel the heat from that fire .

Great job here!

You've captured the moment SO well and great brushwork and use of colour

What a superb painting - so full of life!

This is super Tim, long may the heritage railways keep going.

Brilliant! A lovely painting.

This is wonderful. I love steam engines too - my husband and I will be driving one at the Severn Valley Railway next month!

Excellent, you can feel the heat!

This has so much feeling and a great atmosphere Tim. An extremely appealing painting so beautifully achieved.

Thank you for your great feedback, especially as this year celebrates 200 years of train travel, so, look out for some more railway themed paintings.

The fireman carefully builds the fire on 9F No. 92203 Black Prince at Sheringham station in August 2016, while the driver enjoys a sit down. I had to capture the moment in a painting after meeting these cheery chaps one evening, during a family holiday. The North Norfolk Railway (NNR) ran a children’s special, and they kindly invited my son George to stand on the footplate. I love the fact that in this hot, mucky environment, both the driver and fireman are wearing formal white shirts, with a tie/bow-tie.
