Winter sunlight

London Road canal

You have certainly caught the cold light very well indeed.

Love it.

Really nice composition and great light.

A superb scene and beautifully painted.

Really nice urban painting Tim. I work in Nottingham so I am intrigued!

Beautiful dark tones, very effective.

Thanks for your all your comments. Sarah, you can still see this scene as London Road is on the right, the curved bridge in front is the one that takes you to the Gym & Health Club based in the old station building behind the high wall on the left. The next bridge beyond that carries the rail line into Nottingham Station.

Marvellous lighting.

Beautiful painting Tim, love everything about it

Lovely work and a great atmosphere. Love the distant details and the light on the river Tim.

Like this urban scene very much

Love your palette and the way you apply paint…..super piece Tim.

Soft and moody, you can feel the mood being on a slow (narrow) boat. Love it.

An oil painting of the Nottingham & Beeston Canal, based on a photo I took 30 years ago when travelling on a narrowboat from Wilford St, Nottingham to Trent Bridge. We had just turned to starboard in the basin under the now demolished Victorian GNR rail viaduct next to the former Boots warehouse, and the winter sunlight along with the shapes of the bridges inspired me to capture the moment.
