Blue Beach Huts by Jenny Harris

Blue Beach Huts

A little gem Jenny - I used to paint quite a few of these sort of subjects and this makes me think perhaps I should do a few more - strangely enough I have just resealed the back of a frame containing a painting of 3 old men in deck chairs which I did some years ago - yes you have inspired me.

A very idealistic version and so well painted. A subject well used by me as we have three friends with huts on Mudeford Spit.

Thanks very much Anne, Dennis, Michael and Derek. Beach huts are always a popular subject, evocative of happy days spent by the sea - I've painted several of these, and unlike most paintings, they are actually fun to do. I look forward to seeing some from you Michael!

Photo is fine Jenny, the work is even finer, really good design.

Such a fresh design. Powerful in its simplicity. Are all those blues slightly different? Love the textures around the steps Diana

Thank you so much Alan and Diana. (I nearly didn't post this one as I thought it might be a bit too simple, so I'm delighted with the feedback. Diana, yes they are four different blues, but I softened them all a bit afterwards with a dry white watercolour pencil as they dried a bit harsh as watercolours can sometimes do. I used salt for the textures.)

Simply gorgeous Jenny!

This is great Jenny, I can see it in a posh bathroom or a seaside cottage.

That's a lovely image , it's beautifully fresh and clean .... Thank you for the comment on my gouache and yes I outlined it as a last little touch as I wanted to give it a certain look , had a lot of fun playing with it .

Lovely Jenny! I'm always drawn to seaside paintings and, like Michael, have painted a few in my time. You have inspired me too!

Thanks very much Fiona, Carole, Dermot and Christine, much appreciated.

What a wonderful subject these are for illustrative design, Jenny. And your colour scheme is superb.

Thanks very much, Ruth.

Lovely work Jenny, as is the rest of your gallery,

Thanks, David, much appreciated.

Pen and ink / watercolour. Done a few years ago. (Sorry, not a very good photo, some reflection in it.)
