It's a lovely landscape Jenny and I like the shadowing on the ground - not sure if it isn't a bit too intense but, as I am not an expert, this is just my preference. I love the different colours in the shadows but, perhaps a little paler? I'm sure you will get some good advice from landscape painters here.

Sorry - forgot to say good luck in the competition.

Bright sunlight, shady walk, great combination Jenny. Good luck!

Good luck in the competition Jenny. Lovely contrast between light and shade, Fab!

Really like it Jenny . Is that a duck I can see by that second tree? Maybe not a duck, I see something in everything lol. Think it needs something and a mother duck walking her duckling across the path would be great. It looks very inviting Jenny very worth developing more.

Thanks Adele, Carole, Carolyn and John for your comments, much appreciated. Adele, I deliberately used a fairly intense colour on the path, partly because I like lots of colour, but also because I didn't want it to look too traditional. John, no, it's not a duck, but now you've mentioned it, it's all I can see - will need to alter that bit! I like ducks, but don't think there are any near this particular wood, did think of including two figures at the end of the path, but that's a bit of a cliche. I'll have to have a think, maybe a fox, or I might just leave it.

I really like it Jenny, I like the shadows which are good and I like the purple path. May be a couple of figures disappearing over the horizon would be good. Good luck anyway in the competition.

Yes Jenny, good luck with this entry. It is a bold statement and that can only be good in my book.

You have contemporary in the contrast good luck Jenny

Many thanks Margaret, Alan and Dennis for your encouraging comments. (I never expect to get anywhere in these competitions, but it's nice to get involved by taking part, and to have something to focus on.)

Beautifully handled Jenny, good luck with the competition!

Thanks, Fiona!

Lovely work on the foliage, Jenny, and I love the colours.

Thank you, Chandra!

I wanted to do something for a local competition 'landscape in contemporary watercolour'. This is my first attempt - I don't do traditional, so hopefully this could be counted as contemporary! Not entirely happy with it so may try a couple of others.
