Freida
Freida's pensive expression and fixed gaze reflects the shy nature of these wonderful creatures, yet she looks as if she is also smiling enigmatically like the 'slightly' more famous portrait 'Mona Lisa'. This artwork was created in three stages: firstly water-soluble pencils are applied to provide the 'under-painting' of the subject, this base is then built-up with many layers of coloured pencils. Finally, pastels are used to form the background which gives a soft matt appearance.
