Hares are a rare but beautiful sight in our great British countryside and are distinguishable from rabbits by their longer ears and legs. The original artwork was created in three stages: firstly water-soluble pencils are applied to provide the 'under-painting' of the subject, this base is then built-up with many layers of coloured pencils. Finally, pastels are used to form the background which gives a soft matt appearance.
