That’s a really charming painting, Spencer.

Brilliant and sentimental.

Once again you come up trumps, Spencer! Superb!!!!

Nice sentiment and a nice image.

Love it, perfect for the song.

Lovely and warm.

Nicely painted and sentimental picture 😊

Thank you for your really lovely comments Ellen, Thomas, David, Andrew, Valerie, Michael and Stephen. So pleased you like it!

This is brilliant Spencer.

Suits the song so well Spencer. I was singing this the other day! I cannot believe I am past that age now. (Inside I am still about 7!)

Thank you so much for your great, and age related comments!

Love this one and just about remember what it was like!

Ah, yes 'when I'm sixty-four' That's come and gone. Smashing work, Spencer.

I like it - it is so cosy, so home feeling - wonderful atmosphere

Charming, Spencer - though 60s are quite young nowadays - well to me anyway!!

I do appreciate your lovely comments Fiona, Carol, Tanja and Anne.

Anne I agree with you. As they say you are only as old as you feel. It’s interesting to know that when the song was written average life expectancy was 70 years.

So much charm in this Spencer. Great storytelling.

Excellent painting beautifully done.

Another spot on image to suit the song Spencer

More of this type of lovely painting!

This Beatles song was recorded in 1967 and is credited to Lennon and McCartney however, Paul McCartney originally wrote it in 1956, when he was 14. The song is sung by a young man to his lover about his plans for growing old together. I’ve used the lyrics ‘ Every summer we can rent a cottage in the Isle of Wight, if it’s not too dear. We shall scrimp and save.
