This is a cathartic/ personal piece in the pop art style. A month ago it was found that I had a growth in my trachea and that my vocal chords were affected by it. After a myriad of tests they identified it was benign so I’m on drugs to try to reduce its size. If it doesn’t work it will lead to a permanent tracheostomy with no voice. The line across the throat is a scar to size of a tracheostomy I had as a child. The growth is drawn in the throat. The background is a watercolour wash and cotton thread.
