Lucy in the sky with diamonds

Oh wow, Spencer! I really like this one!! So appropriate and ties in so well with the words of the song!!

Thank you so much David. The lyrics give you quite a wide scope for thought. The flowers link to the lyric, ‘ Cellophane flowers in yellow and green, towering over your head’.

Great interpretation of the famous song which I like, Spencer.

Yes a good visualisation of the song. I like the simple and accurate lines of Lucy's face.

Thank you so much Lewis. Knowing that there would be a lot going on in the lower part of the painting I wanted her face, which Lennon said would come out of the sky to be simple, yet stylish.

Great artwork Spencer and fits the words beautifully.

Oh I like this Spencer 💕🙂

This is so clever and original Spencer. A great piece of art.

Very clever, it works really well.

This suits the weirdness of the song perfectly Spencer. Good one!!

Brilliant work, really relecting the subject and the lyrics. BTW, what did you use for the boat/sail dark pls?

Most effective - good one, Spencer!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments Faye, Carole, Peter, Martin and Robert and Anne. Robert- I used black drawing pens to get a definite straight edge and then a black marker pen. Black watercolour did not give me a dark enough image so I worked over it.

Very Interesting...I Like It..

This looks great Spencer, very imaginative.

Thank you so much Denise. I changed my original plan as I went along but I was pleased with the finished piece.

Nice interpretation Spencer.

Really love this one, Spencer, so much to view in it. Great interpretation

A great and imaginative depiction of this wonderful song

Excellent work inspired by a great song!

This is clever, Spencer, lovely design element to it.

Thank you so much for your great comments Thalia, Heather, Alan and Jenny.

Excellent Spencer. I really like the way you have painted the lady in the sky.

Thank you so much David. I knew I wanted to paint her bold, but simple.

Love your translation of the song Spencer……clever.

This is really good Spencer

This is the 4th in my Beatles inspired paintings. It is based on the first four lines of the song. John Lennon said about the song, “There was an image of a female who would one day come to save me - a girl with kaleidoscope eyes, who would come out of the sky”. It was also rumoured that it was linked to the drug, LSD. It was from the 1967 album, ‘Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band’.
