The idea for the song came about when Starr was on a boat in Sardinia. He ordered fish and chips but instead of fish he was given squid. He said ‘ it was ok, but was a bit rubbery’. The boats captain then told Starr about how octopus travel along the seabed looking for stones and shiny things to build gardens. This gave him the idea for the creation of the song.

Great story, and I like your painting. The segmented background works well.

A beauty Spencer 😍

Fabulous work, Spencer. The background is wonderful to look at. I like the look of all the picture, however, that crab is my favorite. Nicely done.

Thank you so much David, Martin, Denise, Sylvia, Lewis, Faye and Carol. Most kind of you.

Excellent Spencer. Great sea creatures and really interesting getting the background to the song.

Thank you so much Julie. I’m working on another painting on the same song and as you say, the lyrics keep going through your head!
