This large work was documented step-by-step in my book "Landscape in Ink and Coloured Pencil" and kept me busy for some time. I am intrigued by the changing seasons, particularly when they overlap. This lakeside displayed a tangle of still-flowering plants, dead leaves and silvery reeds, overhung by the first few hawthorn berries. I used ink and mainly Caran D'Ache Pablo colours for their subtle "mixed" shades which suited the subject and the season, plus Prismacolor Premier for emphasis where needed.
