Winter Into Spring
This turn of the season landscape was done during lockdown, in my usual combination of ink and dry coloured pencil. It was a walk made at the end of winter, and the woodland clearing shows a mixture of very tangled old undergrowth alongside new green shoots and primroses. I like these transitional moments and use them a lot in my work. I was experimenting with my method of integrating the two media, and had the time to make it a bit too intricate - but it kept me busy!
