What a great colour palette and fab brushwork, very eye catching result

This is fantastic Hazel. I love how you have painted the light filtering through the trees and the overall luminosity you have achieved.

Lovely picture Hazel.

Love this and your clever use of colours!

Great result. The light really bounces

I like it - the composition and the colours, and the quite impressionistic background.

Thanks everyone for your lovely, encouraging comments! I have never used either purple or turquoise in a landscape before, but now I have found a way to get them both in! We artists have all the fun (when things go right!)

Love your colours in this !

Great colour combination.

There is something rather magical about a shady woodland, very atmospheric but with so much tangle and undergrowth, and so many greens to juggle - quite a challenge! Once I had planned my colours and structure, this painting came together more easily than I thought, thankfully! Using a purple/maroon background against the greens (opposite on the colour wheel) worked really well together and proves that using a spot of colour theory really does go a long way.
