Pebbly beach, Pembrokeshire

Very well done. I find it very difficult to control pastels!!

Yes, pastels are nice to work with and rubbing and blending requires patience and skill. I used a soft brush to gently sweep away any dust and found once your outlay is on the surface then it's just touch and go but delicate and amazing how transforming it is compared with water or oil based pigments...a different approach but satisfying. Lovely pebbled beach and inlet , nicely rendered and spaced too, good work Hazel!

Great palette, composition and i love how you have painted the stones. I also admire how you have used the blues in the sky and water. Super work Hazel.

I like the sense of depth and how you've painted those pebbles!

A good pastel Hazel, with sense of depth.

A lovely atmospheric piece, well composed and with a beautiful palette.

Wonderful sense of depth Hazel, lovely palette.

Beautifully done Hazel. I like how you’ve allowed the textures to come through the pastels. I like the highlights on the stones.

Thanks for all your lovely comments, I realise now that I should be using my pastels more often! xx

I often forget about pastels and if you've not used them for a while they can seem dreadfully hard to control and oh so dusty! However perseverance pays off and once those lovely colours start to blend... pure joy!
