Thanks so much for your lovely comments, I forgot to mention that this painting uses almost entirely ultramarine blue, burnt sienna and white - hurrah for a limited palette!

I stopped one chilly morning on my way to work, it made me late but the photographs I took went on to be very useful! The lane in the distance takes you (by foot) to the village of Eyam.
