I actually started this painting some years ago, but was never happy with it. Re-working some of the bright tones and knocking back some shadows, I altered the tonal values just slightly, having had time to think about it while it sat on my "almost finished" pile for some time. Now the sun is shining through the typically moody clouds which lurk above Hathersage, waiting to rain on us. As usual, a very limited palette of about 4 colours was used.
