Yes, the scumbled approach has certainly given more raised humps and even around the rim of the shell it has become brittle. Well done!

That’s a lovely result Gary and set off perfectly with the background colous. Great minds…I picked out some shells yesterday ( I have lots) to paint.

A little experiment using layers of scumbling and glazing to see how my work changes using a different approach. I like it, it has more of a glow to the colours (which may not come across on the photo). A slow process though.
