Waterlogged Woodland

I think it’s beautiful.

Love the choice of colours in this interesting picture.

It’s absolutely brilliant and so beautifully painted Francis.

Wow, the work involved in that is phenomenal

Superb Francis. Your patience has been rewarded.

Its really lovely Francis, very intricate, love the reflections and way you have painted the trees and fallen branches etc..

It's a smasher Francis and deserves to have got through - can see it was painstaking work and those reflections are masterly

Very delicate and beautiful.

Thank you all. Guess it wasn’t what the judges were looking for. Great to read your comments.

I love the muted tones, the detail and the reflection. Beautifully painted.

Hang on Studio Wall

One of three paintings I entered for the TALP Open. Unfortunately, not to be chosen by the judges but still one of my favourite paintings and I believe one of my best. It’s the largest I’ve done at 57cm x 41cm and took me 60 hours to complete. I started painting ‘everything’, every leaf, twig and reflection and realised it was to be a tester on my resolve to finish. Maybe that’s why I’m so fond of it, it was such a challenge and reminds me of those equally challenging weeks and months over lockdown.
