I like your colour palette Francis, it has that late evening glow. It makes a pleasant change to see the church from this angle, lovely painting. Is it watercolour?

What a lovely setting for a church Francis. Your palette has a look of antiquity about it that fits well with the scene and the boat gives it life. Nice work.

Hang on Studio Wall

There are many good artists living and painting around Rutland. So many of them have attempted this very popular landmark and I thought “why should I be any different”? Almost everyone I’ve viewed on-line has chosen to paint from the Normanton car-park side. I decided to be different. I’ve chosen the East side view with early evening fishermen enjoying the last dregs of sunlight. I’m resigned to being ‘traditional’ in my style. I think this is the best way to approach this view.
