You may not be so sure about it but I love it! I rarely do glazes (one wask and that's it) so I do admire those who have mastered this technique.

It's odd isn't it how we all see things differently? You're not keen on the background and I honestly love it! Nothing about it is overworked. It caught my eye straight away and my thoughts were, "that's really good"! I like everything about it from the rich colour to the composition and especially that background :)

What beautiful colours those irises are. Doesn't look overworked at all and that background is super with the little touches of salt. Just remember, I'm the one who can't do backgrounds not you :):)

Beautiful flowers and the background is just lovely - great painting Carole

Carole - rest easy - everything is perfect in my opinion. I always look forward to your flower paintings as they are truly inspired and beautiful. I think you should be teaching now and passing on your expertise to others.

This is a lovely painting, the colours work really well together, background and the iris

Wonderful colours, so fresh and the blooms are so delicate. If this was one of mine I'd be chuffed to bits.

Everything in this is perfect from where I am. The colours zing with intensity.

Lovely fresh painting, the colours are beautiful.

Beautiful flowers Carole and I like the background!

I think it's good Carole.Very nice

Thank you everyone for your very generous comments, I really appreciate them.

Beautiful Carole.

And another stunner, Carole! Not overworked, and I like the background too! I think it's just fabulous!

Carole there isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said. It is just lovely - the background colours work so harmoniously with the irises. I think we would all like to claim it if you really don't like it!

Thank you Fiona, Midori, Seok Yam, and Julie, very kind of you to leave your comments for me.

14 x 12" I changed the colours of the iris several times! May have overworked the painting by several glazes. It was a real headache this was! Not keen on background either!
