What a little cracker this is Fiona, the composition is really interesting and those colours on the walls give a real old brickwork texture feel, the white parts balance it all nicely, well done.

Ooh Fiona I love this one its gorgeous , beautiful textures and zingy colours , its a cracker , well done Fiona.

No no..... don't you go sticking to your tried and trusted materials, you have a go with something like this again; of course it has its weaknesses, as you're not used to acrylics, but it has more than enough strengths to make up for them; full of life and light .... keep at it, you've exploited the textures well; and it's no crime to switch to the brush or colour-shaper in places, if the knife isn't able to give you the finer strokes.

You should be pleased with this.

Superb work Fiona really really lovely with great colour

Good work Fiona, carry on with the acrylics!

Fiona, this is full of life. So much colour too - I just like it very much!

Great textures, colours and a nice dynamism. Super reflections as well. It is good to try your hand at something different (never thought I would ever say that, lol!) as it often produces super results.

Very different Fiona, it makes a real statement, the colours and line gives it a raw gritty feel which to me echoes what the life of the subject would be like, really like this nice one.

Brilliant messy work Fiona.

Well it seems you can turn your hand to anything Fiona! I like this very much, lovely warm colours and the sea and reflections are excellent. Keep on messing!

What a lovely, colourful mess it is too, Fiona. I think Robert is right, you know. Stick at it because it is lovely. Great colours in the boat!

Well Fiona, what can I say that has not already been said, this is a fantastic work, I love it. Keep up with the Acrylics.

Oh no do some more of these Fiona. Great colours. I do love your pen and wash but this is gorgeous.

What a beauty - more please.

No please don't Fiona - you handle acrylics and a painting knife so well. I love the sketchiness of this painting, and your colour choices too - super stuff!!

Fiona, this is a gem! Plenty of energetic but controlled knifework, a gorgeous palette and loads of atmosphere. It's a fabulous piece and I think you should continue with your experimentation with acrylics. I didn't like them when I first used them, but I had a lovely time working with British artist, Daniel Scott, who was out here in my part of the world for two years. He taught me to appreciate the quick drying and transparent properties of acrylics and how to use them in combination with oils. I explored acrylic gels and pastes on my own - they are also great tools for creating textures. It's a super medium, don't give up.

I can't tell you all how surprised and delighted I am to read all your positive comments and feedback on this acrylic. I honestly thought that I had really over done the 'messy' element, and every other element come to think of it!lol I can't thank you enough, really appreciate your thoughts. I might even try another!

Keep messy when you feel like it Fiona and I feel like it mucho, but forced to, so keep your options open as you will do and produce more smashing work like this

The colour combination is super. Don't you dare give up on acrylics Fiona! I love this! Another string to your bow!

Wow, this is wonderful Fiona - you can stick with the acrylics for me.

Derek, Sarah and Gudrun a HUGE thank you....you've spurred me on!

Frank, thanks very much indeed. You know, I think I will have another go!lol

You should do more of these Fiona that's lovely expressive knife work

Love the texture, the composition and the subtle colours, as for the application method---- a painting knife a day keeps the detail away. Great work.

Looks good to me....... lovely subject, plenty of colour and loads of texture.

Dermot, George, Avril....thank you so much for your great feedback! Love that line George!!

Colours are exquisite - wonderful painting

Once again Nora, thank you for your kind comment......much appreciated.

Acrylic 16" x12" done with a painting knife. You know I don't use Acrylics normally but I thought I would have a change and do a messy acrylic instead of a messy pen & wash. I think I'll stick to the messy pen work.......!
