I nearly didn;t recognise the style, because it is so red/pink, unlike your usual cool tones. I still like the textures and and the energy in it. Not bad at all for left overs!

I like it all, and I particularly like the mountains merging into the sky, and not depicted as a hard edge, excellent landscape Fiona.

Lovely work, I particularly like the foreground right heather.

Very lovely painting Fiona. I agree with Ann, I like particularly the colours and the brush strokes in the foreground.

Very warm feel to this painting, Fiona - the mauves/lilacs are super.

Many thanks Gudrun, Alan, Ann, Dennis, Cesare and Pat....your encouragement and comments are most welcome. Not my usual palette at all and it felt very strange using these colours.

Lovely :)

I'll tell you what to do with left over colours Fiona, you paint a lovely little landscape like this one. Very successful!

I'd be pleased too - lovely feel about it Fiona

Lovely Fiona. It's come out really well for cast-off paint!

I like it Fiona , it hangs together very nicely , it's a very good piece of work

What a cracking use of left overs Fiona. I love the misty mauve of those distant hills.

Thanks ever so much Ruthy, George, Michael, Dermot, Val, Peter for your very encouraging feedback, I was very disappointed with this one and I'm sure it is only down to the use of the crimson.

A beautiful mix of colours, Fiona, really lovely.

Thank you very much Jenny!

Fiona...I love this scene of rugged beauty....You have captured the essence of the highlands in its full glory when all the heather is in blossom....Not too pink on my screen...more mauvish!!

Thank you very much Chandra.

Stunning, Fiona! Beautifully layered, with lively textures and depth.

Many thanks Seok!

16"x12" oil on board. I had paint left over on my palette from Tuesday's class...what do you do with a pile of crimson? A heather landscape was suggested, and relevant for the landscapes around where I live, although it's passed flowering now. Completely made up, could be anywhere in Scotland. It's a bit 'pink' for my liking but the one who suggested it likes it, so that's one of us pleased about how it turned out......lol
