I do like this - so fresh and spontaneous - and I do like the way you have used the ink to such good effect.

Really good drawing in this one Fiona. Do you remember the bridge you painted some years ago? For some reason, the composition here reminds me of that one, but of course, this is so much better!

Thank you Michael for liking my scribbles, I enjoy doing it.

Louise.....don't go there! Yes I remember the bridge, and thank goodness you think I've improved. I did it in, would you believe, March 2011!! You do know that I still see a professional regarding the trauma you all made me suffer over that picture. Lol! Thanks for the comment Louise.

LOL Fiona, I'm rubbish at remembering names but never forget a painting. I suffered as well when I tried to paint a version of that scene! Sorry to bring all those memories back..but just look at the lovely stuff you're painting now!

Well, I don't know about 'lovely stuff' but it's certainly an improvement! I wonder how the bridge picture would turn out now? Might have a go at it again....but not before I take several pink pills and a couple of glasses of red!!! Thanks again Louise.

Very nice fresh painting Fiona i like it

In future I'll remember... 'don't mention the bridge'!!!

Beautiful lively and spontaneous sketching there Fiona. I also love the colour scheme you used. Fantastic.

Good composition, I like the dark colours of the rocks framing the waterfall.

This is great Fiona. The perspective is spot on, could not have been easy I think. And the light and shade, and colours used give it a real harmonious feel.

Thank you Dennis, Mia and Kevin for your lovely comments....much appreciated. Louise, what bridge? Lol.

Well ok, in future we can refer to it as the 'b' word. Come to think of it, I've painted rather few of those b..... things over the years..lol

I certainly have, in fact, I still am producing those 'b' things! I've just been looking through the first portfolio I put on here in 2011...........oh dear, it's enough to make you cringe! I'm off for a lie down.

Pen & wash of a small waterfall in Assynt, I have walked by it many times. Done from memory and photo's in old Holland paints; U. marine, B. umber, P. grey, L. yellow and a touch of L. red. (quite a few colours, for me) Indian ink, applied with the usual dip pen, matchstick and twig.
