A wee bit Drookit…. by Fiona Phipps

Comments

This is really good Fiona.

Worked well despite a bit “drookit”- great word!

Well this is lovely, despite your “drookit” day Fiona, another new word for me! Such unpredictable weather, but this is very successful.

Stephen, Christine, Tessa, Spencer……many thanks for taking the time to look and comment, very much appreciated.

Really nice Fiona. Like your choice of materials!

A very dramatic piece of art Fiona where you have thrown the kitchen sink at it rain and all. And it worked. As it usually does with you.

This is splendid work Fiona. Love the explanation of the title.

Great piece, terrific tree and a lovely illustrative quality.

Scratchy brambly trees -great!

There’s a lot of individual mark making gone into this piece! Much scribbling which is lovely, sketching should be done like this in my opinion… and of course, my opinion is the only one that matters!

Beautiful. You have worked well on this Fiona. Not only Drookit but a Shoogly? fence also.

Never heard ‘drookit’ before but it has a ring to it!

An excellent composition and painting and the layering works really well. It certainly captures the atmosphere of the conditions.

A lovely mixed media Fiona.

Sarah, Chris, Lewis, Andrew, Heather, Anne, Willie, Alan, George, Stephen, William, David…..many thanks for your generous comments. George, it certainly is a shoogly fence!

Knew this had to be one of yours, Fiona - great composition and colours.

Nice work Fiona.

It has a good sense of atmosphere and colour Fiona. Your are developing a distinctive style.

Amazing work Fiona!! I don’t know how you do it!

I do love tree paintings Fiona and this tree is gorgeous, as is the rest of the painting. Great palette too.

Full of life and movement Fiona - I love it!

Love trees and this is great.

Many thanks Jenny, Shaun, John, Rachel, Karen, Shaun, Maureen for your kind and considerate comments. As you can probably guess from the amount of trees I paint, they are one of my favourite subjects.

Great tree Fiona but then the whole painting is amazing.

Excellent work Fiona!

Thank you so much Brian, Cheryl, Diane for your kind words.

Really lovely Fiona.

Thank you very much Sandra.

12”x12” mixed media Saunders sketchbook, watercolour, Indian ink, oil pastel. I thought I might celebrate a dry day here with plein air sketching…..nearly finished, then the heavens opened. It ended up very wet “drookit” so I had to bodge it! It was good to get out again after all the wet weather……
