This is a lovely scene Fiona, I would keep it if I had done it!

What's going on Fiona? I wouldn't have recognised this as yours. You've done really well though, the colours are excellent.

Lovely brush stokes Fiona

This is a lovely scene and beautifully painted Fiona. How could you consider putting it in the bin? Surely Julian would like to keep it.

If the reference material had been my own I may have Carolyn, thanks very much for commenting on it. I’m not sure what’s happening Marjorie, my style is shifting and I don’t know what the trigger is, it’s certanly looser which is what I’ve been trying to accomplish. Thanks very much for your comment. Thanks Lynne! No, he will have forgotten all about it already Carol lol! He isn’t arty, won’t even notice it’s gone! Thank you for your comment.

You painted this beautiful atmospheric painting for your husband when he found a picture that brings back memories to him,let him decide what to do with it, Fiona, please. Or give it to me. :)

Lol....he likes it but doesn’t want it, if that makes sense. I’ve painted quite a few scenes of Leicester city were he grew up, that have a link but he wouldn’t do anything with them....lol Thanks Annick for your comment. You are very welcome to it if you would like it, let me know before recycling day! Lol

This is lovely Fiona - a shame just to throw it away! You could maybe print off a greeting card to use to give to your husband some time?

You've painted great atmosphere of Winter Fiona, one for the portfolio not the bin,

This is lovely Fiona. Far too good for the bin. That water looks icy cold.

Husbands eh!? You go to all that effort, then he likes it but not enough to want it! Mine is much the same, must be a man thing. Maybe consider putting him in the bin and keep the painting? 🤨

Margaret, Willie, Carol, Tessa and Russell, many thanks....you could have an idea there Tessa, keep the picture chuck the husband! Could catch on you know....lol

Thanks for the reminder of the old home town Fiona

How lovely Fiona, I didn't recognise it as one of yours, very different but wonderful.

It is a good winter painting Fiona. I agree, don't bin it ! but keep it for reference for the "next go" at that scene.

You’re welcome Mike, I was hoping you might see it. .....thank you. Thanks Margaret, yes a bit different, munoils are getting strange! At the scene?! In all that cold white stuff?! Nope! It’s a long way to go to paint a bridge Richard lol, thank you for your comment. X

This is truly excellent Fiona, quite a different style and one that I like a lot. I actually can't fault it, which as you know irritates me something rotten! The figures are good, particularly the one on the right, with nicely blurred edges, spot-on...

Beauifully atmospheric, with lovely textures in the foreground, Fiona.

Looks as cold as it is here. I do hope my watercolour is dry soon. A cold house is not conducive to quick watercolour work!!

Alan, Seok, Gudrun .....thank you very much indeed!

Absolutely not bin fodder Fiona its a lovely winter scene with great reflections in the river.

Thanks very much Val!

I wouldn't put it in the bin Fiona. It deserves more than that! Colours are good and I like the way you have painted it.

Thank you very much Dorothy.

Well a painting of my local city and very different for you I was just catching up with gallery after my first hip op, think I'll be just looking for a bit in between physio sessions but it's looking like you're busy 👀👌

Hello Alan, one down........hope you’re not too uncomfortable, it will improve, so I’m told. Are you still around the Leicester area, my husband was born in Leicester city, west end. Hasn’t lived there for many years now though. Occasionally he finds a photo and tells me all about his memories of the place, so I paint him a picture. You’ll be familiar with the nine o’clock horses then?! He still has a brother there and family. I’ve only been once, I bought a new motorbike jacket! Have you got your date for the second op yet....keep in touch and don’t let it be too long before you get the paints out....you might forget what to do and I bet you are already missing your orange lol. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Fiona X

Lovely and far too good for the bin.

I wish I c9uld resue it from your bin and put it on my wall!

Thank you very much Judith. My husband had it framed and it’s on the wall! I still don’t like it..lol.

16”x12” oil on Arches oil paper. Occasionally my husband finds a picture that reminds him of his younger days, which I try and paint, draw whatever. This is the bridge over the cut that runs between two points of the river Soar. Julian fished along the cut in his youth and would shelter under this bridge when it rained. I can’t give credit to the photographer as I don’t know who it is, I have left some details out and haven’t slavishly followed the pic. It was done as an exercise and will be going in the bin shortly.
