Fireweed at Bishop Burn

Comments

Gorgeous, I love that pink, it just sings.

Yes I agree the pink is lovely and works so well

Fiona you have certainly caught the magic of the moment. Stunning in a mystical kind of way. But I must confess to not knowingly knowing fireweed.

Lovely sense of place Fiona and I love the subtle foreground colours

The use of the pink in this painting is superb!

Love the pinks! Rosebay willow herb is a lovely wild flower, we sometimes get it growing in our garden.

The pinks look gorgeous Fiona, lovely scene.

Fabulous. Love the way the foxgloves lead the eye.

Lovely scene beautifully painted. You have captured a warm soft light so well, and the rural scene looks so tranquil and inviting.

They said it all, Fiona: this is super!

Nice one Fiona , You seem to get on well with oils. (you must have more patience than me regarding the drying times. }

Beautiful colour with lovely distant hills Fiona.

Thank you very much everyone for your lovely feedback, much appreciated.

Another lovely one with these colours, Fiona. Rosebay WH was also called blitzkrieg because it always grew on land which had been bombed during the war.

This is a smasher, those pinks!!!!

Thanks very much Marjorie. I hadn’t heard that name before, I could see how it worked though….same as the poppies…..disturbed ground encourages germination? Many thanks Heather!

Love the painting and colour palette.

Very expertly painted Fiona, the pink certainly makes this one.

Many thanks for your comments Rachel and David, much appreciated.

Dennis, thank you once again.

Really like this series of paintings - bold and confident Fiona.

Once again, thank you for your support.

16”x12” oil on Belle Arti board. Fireweed is another name for Rosebay Willowherb, which is at its best at the moment here. This is a corner of a field a couple of miles away close to the banks of Bishop burn…..it looks quite stunning.
