Gorgeous work here Fiona, love the 'scratchy' pen work, suits the subject perfectly, great use of wash to finish

I do like the simplicity of this Fiona - conveys so much.

A fabulous piece, Fiona - the variation in marks and tones is superb.

Really great pen and wash with such simple washes that are perfect for the scene.

Looks a very wils place Fiona, well depicted.

Very nice tones Fiona!

There's nothing more spontaneous and thrilling as painting outdoors! This study is lively and gives you a good idea of the remoteness of the place.

Thank you all for your lovely comments, very much appreciated.

Lovely work Fiona, looks very isolated indeed and you have caught that feeling beautifully. Good wishes to your new home and a lot of happy painting days.

Fiona, I think this is excellent. It's very atmospheric and I look forward to getting more from where you now reside. It looks beautiful.

A lovely lively pen and wash Fiona giving us all a glimpse of your new corner of Scotland.

Satu, Gudrun, Val.......thank you very much for your lovely comment and good wishes. I'm looking forward to sharing this new landscape with you. X

Quick, scratchy pen and wash of the ruin, done on my first exploration of this new corner of Scotland where I now live. You can only reach this place by a costal path which gets a bit close to the edge in places. Old Holland watercolours, U marine, V. red and R. sienna.
