Stoer Head Lighthouse
Pen & wash sketch. Stoer Head lighthouse was designed and built by the Stevenson's in 1870 at Stoer point. It isn't very tall as light houses go at only 14 metres, but it's height above sea level is 54 metres. It's position looks out over the Minch towards the outer Hebrides and is a super place for Whale, Dolphin and sea bird spotting.........only a five minute drive away makes it a perfect place to spend a morning. On this particular day driving up to it, the sky was almost black behind the lighthouse, wth just a chink of light at the horizon. Apologies for everything being stuck in the crease of my sketch book.
