Super little pen and wash rendition Fiona, love your use of limited colour in this an that is a lovely bright green, the stonework in the wall is excellent as well

Snap Fiona, hubby is out walking the dog in the pouring rain at the moment. Good to see you back and hope you have now settled into your new home. You've not lost your touch, less is more as they say and I agree with Ros, a lovely pen and wash. Those greens really give it zing.

Thank you ladies for your encouraging comments. We're getting there in the new home, I hope to have more time to paint but it's going to be in fits and starts I think.

My last painting made me realise I havent spent much time looking at the shape and structure of trees because mine didn't look very natural. Your tree on the other hand is very natural looking and well drawn. I like it a lot. What did you apply your ink with?

I saw this and I thought it must be yours. It's gorgeous in its simplicity. The colours do zing as Val says.

... composition makes it move ... if that makes sense.

Hi Paul, take a look at your 'white sands' painting, nothing wrong with your tree's. If my tree looks natural, it's a fluke! On this occasion I used a fine tipped rotring pen with water soluble ink. Many thanks for your comment Paul.

I know what you mean about movement.......I don't know whether the shape is due to the wind or livestock. Thanks for taking a look Gudrun.

Hi Fiona, thanks so much fyour super comment on my latest dog pastel portrait 'Leon', yes you can get an idea from my pastel drawing of how gorgeous Leon's eyes are in the original photo i drew him from on the paintmyphoto website, one look at that photo and i was getting my pastel pencils out to draw him because he is scrumptiously gorgeous! I am delighted with all the support i have had in the comments on this and on the posting i did of it on the pmp site, where the original photographer commented that several other people have painted him with most going much too dark in his face making his eyes look evil and that he loved my attempt as well, so i am one happy bunny tonight, anyway bye for now Fiona xx

A nice little watercolour Fiona! Lovely light greens and greys! Everything is now green here in Berkshire but still quite cold and windy. Where are you now? Hope that you'll settle down soon and find time to paint more. Satu

Hi Satu, thank you very much for your lovely comment. I now live in south west Scotland in Galloway. The landscape is a little tamer than the Highlands but there are many more subject to tempt the painter. I'm about to post a sketch I did yesterday of the view from the front of the house, which over looks the Galloway hills. Thanks again.

At last some spring green's in the landscape! It's been rainning all day here and there is nothing but the colour grey everywhere. But the brightness of the green on this wayward Hawthorn grabbed my attention through the window. Done in water soluble ink and watercolour wash.
