Your two paintings of the church are very different. This one has an air of mystery about it. The previous painting is much brighter. I like them both very much but this one appeals to me more.

You have really excelled here Fiona - even better than the first - looks pretty crisp as it is - must be great in the 'flesh'

I too like this one better Fiona, lovely painting

You have made many changes here Fiona, a wilder feel to it, much more dramatic, I can almost hear Cathy calling for Mr. Heathcliffe over the moors! Well done.

Thanks Helen, Michael, Glennis and Stephen...your very kind words are much appreciated. I did enjoy this one!!:)

I agree with the above comments, Fiona, especially with the one by Stephen. He expresses it very well. This is great and I can see that you enjoyed it!

Like the loose way you have painted this Fiona, can only agree with many of the comments already made as well, a fine piece of work

Well, Fiona, you did promise us " something different...daring even..." and you have certainly done that here. This is a very atmospheric picture, even Gothic one might say. And it has worked tremendously well. Congratulations on a superb painting and well done!!

Mia, Graham, Lionel thank you so much for looking and leaving your vey kind comments.

Love this stark painting , looks almost scary! The trees are very good Fiona.

Thanks Carole, I appreciate your comments.

Love the spontaneity and the clear washes. It's super, Fiona!.

A different interpretation of a previous posting of St Andrew's Abbey church. I like this one much better, and enjoyed doing it! Done on Bockingford extra rough, heavy paper, just four colours used. Unfortunately not such a crisp image compared to the picture in the flesh.
