Thank you very much Marjorie, I know what you mean. I have the 'Lucifer' (red) flowering at the moment, along with the orange and yellow varieties. I don't think I have any paint to match their colours in my palette!lol

Another pen & wash garden sketch 12" x 9" coming to the end of the soft subtle shades in the garden, the fiery Autumnal shades are beginning to take over; oranges, reds and yellows. I will have to dig about in my paints and see if I have anything to match the garden palette at the moment!
