The start of my portrait of Mr Singh was interesting. I took a Canson Mi-Teintes pastel board (deep maroon) and started to make marks with my finger and thumb. My skin was retained by the toothy surface and I was fascinated by the effect this had. It puts a whole new meaning to finger painting. Can't be repeated though. The ends of my fingers are competely smooth and shiny.
