Another beautiful portrait Duncan

Like the way the light catches the forehead and nose, you have captured that.

Another superb portrait. The light you get into these portraits makes them stand out as accomplished work.

A very well drawn and composed portrait, brilliant!

It is a perfect composition. Really lovely work, Duncan.

I agree with all the above. Beautiful :)

Lovely pose and light. I have had a browse through your other portraits, as I am myself interested in portraiture and figures. All lovely. Also I have started dabbling with pastels, and not many use pastels. At the moment I use pencils which are quite hard. Anyway, I shall browse again.

Duncan. I am not surprised that this painting has won an award at Patchings!

Unison Pastel on Murano paper. My neice Julia popped in last week end. She was leaning on the kitchen workshop with a downlighter catching her face in the most extraordinary and unusual way (light dappled by her tightly curled hair). That, plus the extraordinary (bizarre!) clothing and dangly earings made a portrait mandatory. She is more beautiful than this, but how I enjoyed trying to capture this image.
