I like your attempt Paul

Super attempt Paul and the faded writing on the building is such a lovely detail.

Excellent watercolour Paul, a pleasing and well painted scene.

Beautiful work!

It's a lovely scene and you have painted it really well Paul. I really like the colours too.

I musn’t have paid attention because I thought that was you Paul. An artist painting an artist painting the sea.A nice result.

Thank you all so much for your very kind comments, I enjoyed doing this painting more than any I’ve done recently. I’m a little disappointed as it’s not posted as clear and the colours are a bit subdued than the original, I think the one I put one the forum is a better version , but I won’t repost it .

Your painting has come together very nicely, Dixie. I've enjoyed viewing this art work developing.

Nicely detailed picture.

An interesting scene and a nice balance of colours - lovely, Paul!

Fabulous Paul, I too like how you've painted the lettering on the side of the building, very clever.

A great balanced composition Paul, and a tricky subject well handled - keep at it…

It's just lovely, Paul!

Very good, the detail of boats and buildings are really well captured.

Well done Paul. Fine work.

Thank you all for your kind and supportive comments I appreciate each one .

Such a tranquil scene beautifully captured.

I like this very much Paul, especially the colours. You are good at detail too.

Thank you Susan and Diane I appreciate your kind comments.

Almost missed this one, it is a lovely painting, the colours are just beautiful !

Really great subject for you Paul but with additional challenge of the seated artist which brings the picture to life

This is lovely Paul. You need to use those watercolours lots!

Excellent Paul ! Watched this all the way. One of your best.

Thank you Gill, Christine, Julie and George , I really appreciate your kind comments.

Beautifully painted and lovely detail Paul, especially the writing on the wall

Only just caught up George, interested seeing the completed painting, having seen it in the forum in progress. It's turned out great.

Sandra I will mention it toGeorge when I see him , in the mean time thank you for the comment It made my morning as I thought I was the only one who did this . Thank you Cheryl, it was a last minute decision to add the writing as I started I suddenly though do it added to match the look of the old building .

What a lovely and peaceful harbour scene!

A4 watercolour in A3 mount, develop from a b&w photo of Claude Muncaster painting a marine scene . I was studying his work and came across the photo online, I just wanted to try and reproduce it in watercolour. I haven’t tried to get a likeness to the great man just a representation of him painting , I hope both he and any family members forgive me using him and don’t take unkindly to my humble attempt.

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
