Bark viewed in isolation offers up the best shapes and colours, great stuff.

This is such an interesting, arresting, painting Paul.

Great use of colour.

Thank you all your kind comments I appreciate them. Bit of a different style for me it was however quite enjoyable.

I like a bit of peeling bark Dixie, can see what attracted you there, and your selection of colours is lovely.

I like this very much , the colours harmonise beautifully !!

Tank you Valerie , I honestly can’t take the credit as it’s painted as near as possible to a photo that I found online, it was the colour that attracted me , this isn’t as vibrant as the original photo.

I can see why it inspired you Paul. A lovely result.

A4 watercolour of the peeling bark on a rainbow eucalyptus tree. I painted a scene with gum trees recently and while looking them up on the internet some photos of rainbow eucalyptus tree were shown, I became intrigued. Looked at a lot of photos particularly when the tree was shedding its layers of bark , looks very unreal. Just had to have a go through my attempt is poor in comparison and looks like an abstract.
