I love it, Paul, nicely painted.

Nicely done Paul. A good one to get painted before it falls down😊

Good one Paul, love the rusty roof.

I also love these old buildings and barns Paul. You’ve done well here, those dark areas are perfect…

Really good, and a great idea for a project!

Thank you Willie,Dave,Stephen and Alan I appreciate your kind comments. They are so paintable I’m not surprised that you love them as well Alan .

Thank you Andy , we must have been writing at the same time . There are a lot of them quite local but deep into the field so need permission to get to them .

Looks ready for collapse at any moment but probably will hold up for another 100 years! Good one Dixie. If only these old buildings could talk.

You have really explained in paint this barns story Paul, and it looks beautiful wearing its age.

A real rickety old barn Paul.

Thank you Tessa, Fiona and Christine for your lovely comments. I wish the could talk Tessa be so interesting to hear what they have seen and listened too, they are much stronger than the look and do wear they age well , it’s the age that bring them to such a painterly look.

Lovely work Paul, really like it!

Don't lean on it....

Good work, Paul -it really does look rather fragile!

Sarah , Sylvia and Anne thank you for you kind comments.

A4 watercolour on Bockingford rough paper. I’m on a theme of painting old farm buildings at the moment, I have always like them and love the colours of the old timber and rusty metal etc. Using some old online photo and my own photos, most of the online are very old black and white photos so I’m needing to imagine the colour as in this one . I’m always amazed at how you can get hooked into paintings certain things.

About the Artist
Paul (Dixie) Dean

I have sketched most of my life on and off I became interested in watercolour following a spinal injury whilst in hospital but did not follow it up. My eldest daughter bought me a beautiful wooden box set of half pans about twenty five years ago I dabbled on and off until retirement twelve years…
