It's a lovely painting Paul. You are creating some really good work.

Really clever to do such work from imagination, not something I’m good at.

That is stunning!!

A really fine composition Paul. Good shapes on those crafts.

Lovely imaginative work, Paul - good boats and a nice muted palette!

Thanks everyone for your very kind comments.I enjoyed doing this more than I have done any painting for a while I think it’s because it’s different to my usual styles , I will definitely do some more work in this style.

Very impressive Paul, a great subject handled excellently.

Oh I love this, wonderful work!

Lovely soothing scene Paul and very well painted

Love this Paul it’s so skilfully painted with a brilliant composition.

Nice and crisp look.

One of your best.

Very well done Paul.

This change in style works really well Dixie. It seems more graphic and yes I can see it as a book illustration. The composition is excellent, leading the eye into and around the scene. I love it!

Love this, the pen and wash style really suits the subject.

This is really good Paul, that black pen is working well for you

Lovely composition and light

A4 pen and wash imaginary scene, at one pint I wasn’t sure if I should leave it as a sketch or add some colour as you see I decided to add some colour. It’s on the forum in the daily sketch thread, I had put that I was unsure and Alan suggested a tonal drawing , I had started to add colour when I noticed his comment, it’s something I will do . As I added colour it reminded me of some of the illustrations in the school book ps in the 1950s , loved then and often copied them .
