I'm always amazed by your paintings and this is another beauty ... the reflections are stunning

Love your work, the colours and the brilliant observation.

That is stunning!

A fantastic painting, Diana.

Just incredible!!

Fabulous. Love the reflected eye in the foil.

Amazing painting you get the foil so realistic

Stunning painting Diana - wonderful textures and unique composition. I love the way you have let the white paper just glimpsing through to add more sparkle!

Masterfully painted Diana, great subject.

Fantastic Diana!!

Absolutely beautiful painting.

Thank you Heather. This was quite a challenge. I get impatient to finish at the half way point. Thank you Elaine. There are so many colours in the fish Thank you Collette. I absolutely detest the smell of fish but they are so beautiful as a subject

Thank you David. Your kind comment is much appreciated. Thank you Mia and Faye. This was a wonderful mix of hard and soft areas. Thank you Christine. I loved that reflected eye Thank you Anne. I’m foiled out now!

Thank you Vicky. I used masking fluid for some of the very fine lines. Thank you Denise. Fish are a very popular artists subject. Their colours and markings are beautiful

A really great fish to paint, I wish I could get a couple of really fresh ones… no chance! This is superb as always Diana.

Thank you Audrey and Paula. It’s taken a lot lounger than expected because I had to control my impatience to get it finished!

Thank you Alan When I’m in Cornwall, my husband gets mackerel fresh from the sea from fisherman friends. I wish I could share their enthusiasm. I’ll stick to painting them 😂

Fabulous still life. Brilliantly painted.

Superb, painting a very shiny object on a very shiny background must have been quite a challenge. So much of interest but I particularly like the reflected eye giving the viewer the cold eye.

Absolutely brilliant and beautifully painted.

Another stunner!

Absolutely brilliant Diana!

This is a super watercolour Diana.

Wonderful observation and painting Diana. I just noticed the eye reflection in the foil! Superb. I love fish (to eat) but also couldn’t actually try to catch one.

This really is amazing

Beautiful, Diana - especially that reflected eye!

Thanks for looking Sylvia and Chris. I appreciate your interest Thanks William .It was a challenge to balance the much softer, watery areas. I loved that reflected eye too. Paul , Linda and Fiona, thank you for your consistent interest in my work . I really appreciate it. Thank you very much Sarah It put a few watercolour challenges to the test. Thank you Tessa. I loathe fish as a food and it’s smell but the colours and designs on the skin are beautiful. Thank you Anjana and Jenny. Always good to hear from you.

Thanks so much for having a look Petra.

Oh! Yes! Fantastic!

So beautiful ! Wonderful painting !

Fab Diana. I do hope the fish gets eaten afterwards.

Absolutely gorgeous painting

Thank you Janet and Lea. I really loved that reflected eye. Thank you Gudrun. I’m ashamed to say that it didn’t. I would have given it to the cat but was frightened of him swallowing bones!!!😂 In retrospect, utterly ludicrous. Thank you Romila. I’m delighted that you like it.

Amazing painting, great observational skills and perfectly captured. I'll have mine pan fried please.

Ha ha. Thanks Brian. I loved painting it but eating … 🤢

Amazing Diana.

Beautifully-painted watercolour. Very impressive.

Thank you very much David. I loved the colours and reflected eye

Half imperial watercolour on Saunders Waterford CP heavy paper. I really wanted to capture this beautiful reflected eye which is actually in two places. It was an incredible mix of soft and sharper areas.
