Might not be to everyone's taste but this is superb! The detail is extraordinary!

A powerful and evocative painting, Diana - superbly done...

Wow, GREAT work Diana!

Can understand your attraction, very well done Diana

Thank you David. I found it beautifully relaxing to work in graphite. Thank you Jan. I found this Skeleton bathed in sunlight on a woodland path and the feather still attached were iridescent blue. That isn’t illustrated here but the beautiful sweeping and intertwined shapes of the feathers is beautiful too Thanks Detlev. I feel tremendously passionate about this one

Thank you Heather. Beautiful in death

Fascinating Diane beautifully drawn.

Interesting image Diana, definitely right in my interest zone! Really excellent sketch…

Macabre maybe, but a wonderful drawing.

Wow incredible!!

I've never written a comment with a 'wow' before but 'WOW!' It's brilliantly drawn but I think there's a wretched beauty to it, I can't take my eyes off it Diana.

Thank you Sylvia. Pleasantly relaxing without paint😂 I’m really pleased you like it Alan. Drawing certainly makes you look!! I really enjoyed it Thank you Lewis. It was well enough decomposed not to be unpleasant! Thank you Chris and Faye. I really value your interest.

Thank you very much Russell. You made my day. I really appreciate and value your opinion. Many thanks Petra. I decided to avoid much more than a gentle shadow for a background because it was on a dry mud path. Makes life much easier 😂

Brilliant work!

Fantastically painted Diana. Expression on his wee face!!!

Great drawing superbly finished. I can understand your attraction !

Thank you very much Linda. Thanks Audrey. It’s not just me that thinks his head looks appealing with his/ her tufts of feathers ! Thank you Richard. I had to wait until people had passed before having a closer look and taking photos 😂

Superb painting Diana, done with such delicacy, you can almost feel the empathy for this creature coming through the painting.

Excellent Diana. I always admire your observational dedication and your ability to interpret in such a sensitive manner.

This is incredible! Well done.

So beautifully and sensitively done, Diana, there’s such a sad, gentle look about him.

Diana, you already know my thoughts on your interpretation of this subject, from my comments on your earlier postings. But just to say, changing the medium takes nothing away from the sensitivity and grace in which you have portrayed it. The lack of feathers on the skull has somehow returned it to its birth, it shows it’s vulnerability, and the need to nurture it.

A sad but beautifully drawn subject Diana, with wonderful detail.

Thank you for your interest Christine. I really appreciate it. Lovely comment Denise. I think there is definitely emotion conveyed in some paintings more than others.

Hello Diane. I’m pleased you said that because I was hoping to portray something more than a clinical study. Thank you Fiona (R) I hoped it wouldn’t be seen as revolting. Thank you Jenny. There was a sadness but in reality, the sun was lighting the blue iridescent feathers which I may capture another time. Thank you again Fiona. I feel such emotion for this subject which was there from the time I came upon the bird on my walk. It’s as if this feeling comes through the mark making tools The bird looks so vulnerable as you say stripped of its majesty. Thank you Tessa. Sad yet beautiful. I really connected to this subject.

I bought some rather expensive half imperial hot pressed paper by mistake so returned to this image which I found really evocative. Soluble graphite and a tiny bit of watercolour . I sketched this subject before and always intended to re visit it. Not to everyone’s taste but there was so much that attracted me to it as a subject.
