You have been missed Diana! I was thinking only the other day hadn’t noticed one of your delightful paintings and here it is. This has all your usual skills with glass and a particularly good view from above-always original.

Stunning and beautifully painted, as Tessa said the glass is particularly well painted good to see you artwork.

Lovely to see your inspirational work again Diana. You have painted this from such an interesting and challenging aspect with great results. The light and reflections are superb.

Once again you come up with an absolutely superb painting, Diana!!

A super painting in your own inimitable style.

Great painting from an unusual angle

You are the Queen of glass and water reflections Diana. Excellent as usual

Very Good...

Thank you Tessa. Like in all other skills, a spell off needs some catching up . I feel strangely ‘lost’ when not painting. Thank you Paul. Lovely to hear from you again Thank you Carole. I love looking at subjects from a variety of angles. You are so generous with your thoughts David. After a spell off it’s great to be offered that boost. Thank you Thank you Christine. As a beginner,I always wondered how an artist develops a style . Looking back at my early classes,I remember people’s varies styles developing. Thank you Carolyn . The reflected shadows were superb that day. Thanks Marjorie . I get so excited when the light streams into my kitchen. I never tire of the same images. Thanks Martin. We all have our favourite subjects and much as I love landscapes for example, I find painting glass so much easier. That’s really kind of you Heather. I’ve felt ‘incomplete’ while out of action. Thank you Jenny. I was spoiled for choice with this scene as each angle brought different and dramatic shadows and reflections. Thank you Colette. I was surprised to have got that light ,particularly as I’d lost a lot in the jug. Thank you Fiona. I think that’s what pulls me towards glass as a subject. Thanks Russell . Im getting more self critical with each painting which is particularly satisfying when I feel I’ve achieved what I intended . Thank you Spencer. I make life easier for myself. True skill comes in painting a subject in flat light and still getting a great tonal contrast. Thanks Maureen. I get quite disappointed when a piece that starts off promising but loses what I intended . It’s a valuable exercise to analyse what has gone ‘wrong’ . Thanks Chris. I really appreciate your interest. I’m delighted you think so Anne. Thank you for your compliment. Thank you Karen . I value your compliment. What a lovely thing to say Romila. Your comment gives me the opportunity to look at it through different eyes to see the positives. Thanks very much Eric. Much appreciated

I am always in awe of your work. Another beauty.

Half imperial sized watercolour on heavy Saunders Waterford CP paper. Time I made an appearance after many weeks of not painting. I have overworked this in parts but returned to it to see if I could capture the light. I’m happy with the overall effect Lessons learned, both positive and negative. Actually any lesson learned is positive!
