The expression on her face says so much, a hard life lived and you’ve captured it so well. I think it makes us count our blessings.

Not comfortable, Russell, yet a wonderful drawing, Russell, really capturing a hard life in her face; Love and God bless, Andy

Poor soul, I can feel her anguish Russell. Superbly drawn.

Goodness Russell, so different but brilliantly captured.

An astonishing portrait of real life and this woman's harrowing expression. Brilliant, Russell, just brilliant. Bri

This is superb Russell. Looks like me on a bad hair day. The title says it all and it makes us realise how lucky we are to have decent access to dentistry etc.

Oh my goodness, this packs a punch. One can only imagine.

Sorry Russell, I hadn’t read your comments and feel I was a bit flippant with my first reply. It’s terrible in this day and age that people have to suffer to such an extant and do hop the lady found some comfort and kindness offe

Sorry that went off before I had finished. ‘Offered to her.

She, and you, convey her hard existence. Excellent, Russell. Must admit, when I noticed your name, before I looked at the drawing, I thought “ Oh, Russell’s joined the selfie challenge”..... are we going to get a young selfie? No pressure😁

What an impact this has , you have to feel for her . Great drawing capturing all her emotions so well .

Absolutely brilliant. A very sad depressing visual but highly evocative and shows her true feelings of what she has gone through in her life. One feels that she's had a really raw deal throughout.

My goodness Russell, your portrait of this poor woman and her situation certainly puts our own existence in perspective. Heartbreaking.

Brilliant drawing Russell.

So, so emotive.

Thank you all very much for your great comments, they're greatly appreciated.

Wow, absolutely fabulous, great expression

I first painted this poor desperate lady several years ago after seeing her begging on a street in Montenegro, I wonder how on earth if and how she could have survived the last twelve months.
