Well. I am not surprised it sold ! It's a very charming little painting. Well done !

Well done Caroline. It is a very nice painting :)

Well, how very interesting - the painting certainly has something, a freshness and a sense that you weren't that bothered to labour over it because it was a practice piece, and I suspect that's why it's worked well and why it sold. I like the shapes in it against the sky, and the colour - maybe more practice pieces are the answer!

Thank you for taking the time to look and to leave comments, Lionel, Sarah and Robert, it's so encouraging. You've put it perfectly, Robert - yes, it's that darned "weren't that bothered to labour over it" which appeals to me in other people's paintings and which I find so hard to achieve. I can plainly hear that voice in my head saying leave it, stop, step away, do another one, anything, but Stop Fiddling!, but usually I can't!

Well done Caroline love the green riverbank, trees, water, sky, all of it

Thanks so much Ros. One of the hardest things for me is to hold back from correcting, adding etc, so I'm pleased it seems to have worked.

A small practise exercise, about 5" x 3", on Bockingford Not, which I donated to a charity for their fund raiser. I couldn't believe it when it sold, my first sale!
