White Moss Wessenden Moor Yorkshire 18.5 X 12"
This view is from all but 10 paces from the A635 North East of Holmfirth (Last of the Summer Wine Country!) where there is a convenient place to pull over. To the left of the scene are the beginings of Saddleworth Moor. I had to abandon my first attempt on the back of this painting as the heavens opened the momment I started to mix the sky color, resulting in the usual spotting and splattering over the paper. I completed a second attempt under the shelter of the opened boot lid of or car. Though there is still evidence of the rain in the top right corner. Thank heavens for heavy weight paper! The weather about half an hour after starting the second time was no more than a clear blue sky! such is so in the pennines! Saunders Waterford 300lb Rough Paper
