This biro sketch, made over coffee from the first floor window of Debenhams cafe in Chesterfield, was on the back of a utility bill or some such like which I had in my pocket; you can see the fold down the centre. Though not gripping, the composition does throw up some interesting issues which appealed to me at the time; the perspective set up, scale of the components (which left something to be desired in places), the need to build volume through value, via hatching and cross-hatching; were some of them.
