This is a scene from the 2014 floodlit race at the Marina Bay street circuit in Singapore, a split second before Hamilton took Vettel, then racing for Red Bull, on a tight right-hander on the 54th lap in a memorable moment for aficionados during that race. (I see there's a note on the thumbnail watercolour sketch of the lap and the time passage in the video I must have freeze-framed to get the reference - there's more to this F1 illustration business than perhaps meets the eye). It leap-frogged Hamilton to the top of the leader board, Rosberg having suffered mechanical problems and been forced to retire. I chose this take on the moment because I felt there was a confusion of imagery in the bend itself (see mock up). Gouache
